your avtar tell me, you are a real Romeo! are you a casanova? because somewhere i feel, that you are not referring to being inl love with the same person allthe time, but go on loving new finds every time!
i think we have to have love, may be not as crucial as air and water as you say, but to make our lives worth living. we may have all the worldly pleasures, still we lok out for love. do you think every one finds true love in his life-time? even the most unusual characters in history were involved romantically ! adolf hitler also had a girl friend, it seems!

That is so cool that you worded your question that way. whenever people ask me what it is like to be in love with my wonderful husband I tell them it is like breathing. I would die without air or him!! I think some people are addicted to love, but if you find the RIGHT person it becomes far more than that. You sometimes just sit and think about what it would be like bot to have them there anymore and it makes you want to cry or quit living. When love is that strong it is not addiction, it is pure love and it feels wonderful. People who are addicted to love may go out with 100 different people, but when you are in love, you never want to be with another person ever again. You feel as if you have found the perfect person and there is no reason to search for love anywhere else cause you could never find anything better than what you already have.

yes, both are true. love or the pursuit of love can be addictive.
but most people need it. kind of like food, which is also both.
To tell the difference, if you pursue the love at the expense of your life (going to school, getting a job, taking care of yourself, having fun etc.) then it is an addictive problem. If you are letting bad things happen to you for the love it's an addiction. If you are having the good kind of love that everyone needs then it will support the things that are best for you like finishing school, getting a good job, being happy etc.

True, pure love is not an addiction. It is a need as is air to breathe and water to hydrate. Loving someone truly is a nourishment to your body. It feeds your heart & soul. Without love a person could die. When someone is in it alone, it withers away and dies from lack of receptiveness. Along with the dying love is a dying heart & soul that no longer has the will to live..........:(

If a person's nature is given to addiction - then Love can be its focus. Anything could. Even pain.

However, outside the addictive, we are all evolved from primates.
Primates are social creatures. If a chimpanzee is left alone long enough it simply dies.
Dolphns will.
Certain birds will.

Our genetics makes the need of others permanent.
Love is only the upper expression of that need.

Either way love is nice, and people like nice. It could be like air and water in the aspect that it could save you from depression (which may lead to health problems). Then there's all the stuff about endorphins being released causing pleasure. So it could be both. Or you could be the type to say it's an evolutionary instinct.

IT is funny you ask this question because I was just discussing this issue with a friend recently who seems to think that having a man in her life is just as necessary as food and water! The notion was crazy to me.
Love is an added enjoyment to life, not a necessity to live. We should realize all the things that important in our lives, and be thankful. Some people do tend to become addicted, unfortunately.
People who think love is a necessity, tend to have more problems in their romantic lives than those who just appreciate love and know the world does not revolve around one individual in our lives.

No, you don't have to have it. Some are addicted to it, and go from one affair to another.
