All I can say is that I am so sad to see one of the game's greats retire. He will join the ranks of Pele, Paul Breitner, and Vavá. Its a shame to see him go that way, but in my mind, that one moment of anger, that one mistake, will not overshadow a career that was one of soccers finest. I mean he won the Golden Ball for this World Cup and he's been elected FIFA World Player of the Year three times (1998, 2000, 2003) and once as European Footballer of the Year (1998). And in 2004, Zidane was added to the FIFA 100, a list of the 125 greatest living footballers selected by Pelé as a part of FIFA's centenary celebrations. In 2004, he was also voted the best European player for the past 50 years in the UEFA Golden Jubilee Poll. He accomplished so much and was is so well respected. He played with sportsmanship and class, and I at least, will miss him.

Zidane is the lord of football and who ever disagrees with me can take a spoon to eat my @$$.

Materazzi and coach Lipi know Zizou very well since Jeuventus days. Materazzi had to get Zidane out before penalties. So he insulted his religion and his mom.

Zizou instantly changed colours and gave him the " Head of God" just like Maradona's " Hand of God"

talk about FIFA's slogan " Say No To Rasicim" ... my @$$

he still has the 2007 club season in his contract, i would consider that professional play. he is not lost, he will probably coach a pro team when he's done don't worry he'll make instructional videos and tv appearances he's not gone he's just not playing in another world cup.
