Here's a great outfit for you...(I'm not really sure where you live or what stores you have there, so don't mind the actual store, just the clothing...
The first link is a great pair of versatile pants, they're really cute and flattering, and they go with just about anything.
Next is a cute top that would go nicely with those pants...it's not really an office shirt, it's just cute and can be professional, too.
The next link is some more typical shirts you would see in the office.
It's really important to have a great shoe to go with these. That's what the last link is. You don't have to like this particular style, but the key to wearing clothes like these is to look put together and that's what a great heel will do for you.
I wish you the best of luck, any questions, let me know

I work in a business casual work atmosphere. I usually wear nice gauchos with either a button down top with the buttons open, layered over a tank; a cardigan over a tank, or a thin v-neck shirt with a tank underneath cause I am a bit busty lol. It looks nice and is very comfy. I also sometimes wear a tee shirt with either a shrug or cropped jacket over. I try not to have a lot of skin showing, but still look feminine and sexy.
I have a few wrap dresses too that look nice. I usually just wear a pair of nice sandals or slides, but I keep my low top white keds under the desk because sometimes I have to run between buildings and I work on a large campus.
In the wintertime, I just trade my gauchos for slacks or layered skirts.

I would recommend that you go to like a JCPenney store and try out some of the different blouses, see what makes you feel comfortable, take along a girlfriend, I would then recommend a couple of skirts and pants, maybe even a suit or two then I would work to get at least 2 pairs of 3" heels black and blue to match with your outfits.

You could wear some nice dress pants, with some bright button-down-the-front shirts. Or a suit that fits your body nicely. Try a skirt to the knee with a cute little jacket and a pretty shirt with a color that compliments you. Good luck with your new job!

How about pant suits. I've been watching "What not to wear," and currently pant suits are all the rage. Get several sets of pinstripe pant suits with various colors in the stripes. Like, get a pink pinstripe suit and then under your blazer you can put a pink cami or shirt underneath. For your shoes, stay comfy in ballerina flats. I love 'em.

good question.
I work in an office as a mortgage broker, depending on your figure
I wear form fitting pants, their not super tight, but not baggy either.
I like wearing high heels, however if you don't, dressy office flats
are ok to wear as well. They usually have cute dressy patterens
on them. As for tops, i am self conscious about my stomache, so
I try not to wear any thing "Rusched" or too snug in the stomache
are because it focuses on my bulging tummy. so i wear blouses
either that are straight, traditonal ones, or usually I wear tops that
are similar to "baby doll" tops or tops that have empire waists
meaning they gather at under the breast bone as opposed to
gathering at the tummy. those are very comfey for me, and they
usually are dressy enough for an office job. i like the sleevless ones because I wear a blaizer over it usually and then the sleeves
dont bunch up and you get maximum comfort.

try the layered look - long tank/camisole, with a cardigan over it. they'll match with any bottom. for the more "trendy" look, find cardigans that have appliques, patches, any type of designs on them. the same goes with tank tops - instead of the plain solid tank tops, look for lace-bottoms, or an all-over print to wear inside a solid cardigan.
as for bottoms, dressy capris/gauchos look good with pointy-toed heels or peep-toe pumps.
for a basic but always "in" look, try a plain white tshirt (fitted) with a pencil skirt (ones from Theory are flattering for most people) or slim black pants.
for a versatile look, try a drop-waist dress (knitted, cotton ones are very comfortable) with a shrunken fitted blazer over it. you can also pair a dress with a wrap top or bolero.

Some slacks are loose and comfortable. Depending on the dress code you may be able to wear gauchos if you like them. You can also pick up some lightweight knit tops that should work. Like I said, this will depend on your office's dress code, just don't let "loose" equal "sloppy"!

it depends on what kind of work you're up to... a nice option will always be suit like pants and you can wear whatever tops you like; from t shirts with nice designs and a suit jacket for a pro but layed back look, to sweaters, possibilities are infinite... it's all about getting one or two formal details, like pants and hair, or jeans but a formal shirt and hair... good luck!
