if i pull out my thumb drive without using safely remove hardeware.

Not if it isn't sending/recieving info. On my flash drive, there is a little light that blinks when it is busy with info. So, if your's doesen't have one, then hit the 'Safely Remove Hardware'.

Nah, not on a Flash drive. If you are hooking up a full size HDD with spinning motors. I would do that and turn the drive off before I unplugged it.

Edit: After reading the answer above yes that is recommended but I have never used the safe method with my flash drives..hehe

Yes, it can corrupt the data on the drive. You should ALWAYS use the "safely remove hardware" option when disconnecting any writable media or device from your machine.

no not at all...
it is doest matter...wheather you safely remove it or not...
it will never broken unless you put in the water...
remember it will never broke up if u just pull it out...
