In the aftermath of a shocking performance in the world cup I would expect (and hope) that the FA have realised that they were probably a bit hastey in there appointment of steve mclaren.

although he is the natural successor, a complete overhaul is what is needed instead of the impationate approach which has taken us nowhere.

Who would you have in charge?

Start with Sacking the board of the FA.

Then place Sir Clive Woodward as your Technical Director

Terry Venebles as your Fulltime Coach for all levels including Youth

Stuart Pearce to work alongside him on International games with Big Sam and Alan Pardew also as coaches, but neither of those three should be full time, just part of the set up and all are natural born winners / motivators that show Pride & Passion in their work.

Steve Mclaren is a Joke... 14th in the Prem? and he is the one who made the substitution suggestions at the World Cup!!!

Scolari, Lippi, Capello, that bloke down the pub who is a tactical genious or so he says, the Sky watching suits at work who know the game inside out courtesy of Andy Gray's unique insight but wondered know the inside of a football stadium if it was dropped on their head. Need I rant on, just that I would rather have anyone than McLaren in charge. Seve took the most talented bunch of English Footballers for a generation, stifled all invention, choked at the vital moment, before getting his golden handshake but rather than clear the sheets the blazered bozos at the FA hand the worlds best pension plan for second rate managers to his number two!! The mind boggles!!

First of all lets get one thing straight getting mclaren i think is a mistke he barely kept boro up what chance has he got at international level.I know that this is just a pipe dream but if it was up to me i'd go for either JOSE MOURINHO or ARSENE WENGER it was pointless trying for either one of these because on the board of picking the next england manager was david dein the arsenal vice chairman so that was blown straight out the water and as for jose would you wanna cross the russian mafia lol only kidding that guy must feel like a kid in a sweet shop no chance there then ,so of the people thats left they should have gone all out for gus hiddink really,i mean come on do you honestly believe there is an englishman who is tactically as good as the above mentioned,no way english managers are about 20 years behind our european counterparts.Thats why our top premiership clubs have european managers, because they are the best so lets get rid of this patriotic racist yes racist rubbish about only an englishman can manage england because on svens win loss record his is the best of all the managers only 2 defeats in competetive games in 90 minutes,it took penalties to beat us on more than one occasion

I would choose a combination of 2 managers and both of them would be Premiership managers. But who? SMcLaren: he is already there but has got no one to help him out as TVenables is there but lokks more of a spectator than anything else and the man helping stevie out should be SAllardyce since the England should get some sort of a whip and Big Sam has got SOMETHING OF A WHIP TO GET THE ENGLAND TEAM GOING!!!

Well, the maist constant factor of footballing success you have in England is Ferguson, of Man Utd. Shuir, he'd throw Beckham off the team and smack others around a bit too, but England would be playing attractive footy again, I daursay. They might then even get one over on Scotland eh. Imagine having a proper England team for once.. Haha

Klinsman. Now before you start he was well liked when he played in this country. He has done well with Germany and is a motivator. Now i know he is German but so is old lizzy and her mob and we put up with them.If you watched Klinsman at the world cup he played every ball, and that is what you want, somebody that doesn't just sit there like dummy and claps sometimes. And also it wouldn't cost us a fortune either. You couldn't have Shearer because he is the future manager of N.U.F.C.

Peter Taylor - without doubt the best international manager available in England. That's why Palace have snapped him up. His work with the U21 side was excellent and all of the young talent know him and like him. Unfortunately he seems to be to unglamourous for the media.

None of the (English) premiership managers are up to the job as they are unproven at international, and even European level.

Margaret Thatcher......she would shut the oppositions defence down , stop their midfield from working and dismantle their strike force....sorry seriously I would have liked to see O'Neill as he learned so much from Mr Clough who was the best gaffer England never had.Otherwise Sam Alladyce, honest and hard working with an English lions spirit.
