If your question is whether or not to be a lifeguard at 35, I'd look into a more secure career path...but don't let me dampen that dream.
If you are asking if teaching your what I assume is daughter a snorkeling lesson is ok...why not? It is interesting to see what is down there.
If you are asking why lifeguards dress the way they do...ask them. I suspect it is personal preferance.
If you are wondering why people put ban-daids at the bottom of the pool, I imagine they fall off. Glue is only so sticky you know.
If you are asking if being a lifeguard is scary stuff...I agree. I huge responsibility.

okay i'm 16 and i'm a lifeguard in singapore ... most probabaly we stares at you is because we have to ensure the safety of all the swimmers in the area ... and if someones happens to drown we could react to them immediately . it is very tramunatic to have someone drowned on our watch . most lifeguard who has someone drowned on their watch would be guilty for life ... so its PREVENTION BETTER THAN CURE .... we better take precuation before someones get drown and have a phobia of water ... thus we had better prevent !rather then relaxing on the tower...
its our like to put on our full battle order(swimming suit) , or just our field dress(shirt) but we would wear trunks underneath our pants so that in case of emergency we won't errhm... but most of the time we have to put on our uniform which is our shirt ... but i'm not sure about other beaches but in singapore's beach we have to do this ....
i'm a 16 year old lifeguard in singapore sentosa beach patrol and we wouldn't descrimiate those older than us ... we would infact welcome them becos they have more life experience than we do .... thus we do respect our seniors

What the crap is this? There is no question here, and the statement doesn't even make any kind of sense. Who cares? Quit smoking the stuff and get a life.
