My mom & my stepdad (RIP) for providing for me when I was little, allowing me to get a good education, feeding me, clothing me, & teaching me right from wrong (although I still screw that up from time to time, lol).

General Dwight David Eisenhower led the greatest military force ever assembled in history during Operation Overlord. Some would argue that that made him the most powerful man of all times. Of course he was not a bad person and used the armed forces for no personal political gains - another trait of greatness.

Well, I'm not God - so I don't feel like I'm in the place to judge/compare human lives - but Einstein has always impressed so much to the point of propehecy.

He was accepting, and developed a view of a cosmic God that appeased science and welcomed all.

He was brilliant in multiple fields, such as mathematics, economics, and philosophy - drawing on questions which brought him much resistance.

He was "human" - in that he had a love for his wife, child, music, wisdom/truth, etc...

He was modest in a sense, that he did not even cut his hair; to free himself from a barber.

My parents, my sister, my girlfriend, myself.

People we have all benefited from:
- the scientists (Isac Newton, Albert Einstein, Kaku, Stephen Hawking, Ray Kurzweil, and many others)
- the musicians (my personal favorite: Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Chris Cornell, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Staley,The Who...)
- the painters (my personal favorite: Dali, Chagal, Modigliani)
- the writers (my personal favorite: Hawking, Rowling, Tolkien, Kurzweil and many others I can't think of right now)
- the moviemakers
- the comedians (my personal favorite: Conan O'Brien, Jim Carrey, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Matt Groening etc..)
- the pacifists (the hippies, anti-Bush-ists, anti-racists etc...)

Also I don't think Jesus can be said to be the greatest person to have lived because if it weren't for the writers of the Bible people today wouldn't have known he ever existed. He became what they made him. Also, I have to remind you that in the name of religion many people died (most of them innocent). I can't deny the help that people get from believing in Jesus but it comes from within them, not from some superior diety.
