Smoking is a terrible habit, I know I have smoked since I was 17 and am now a lot older :-). Try your hardest to give up smoking, pregnant or not. If you are pregnant smokers are 50% more likely to miscarry, the birth weight of the child is alot less than that of a woman who didn't smoke, the child can suffer from asthma. Think of it this way, when you smoke, the child is starved of oxygen for approx 5 seconds with each drag you take. Think of it as you strangling your own baby, that should make you give up if nothing else. Hope this helps.

Ok first things first. A. You're pregnant at 17 thats not good. B. You've been smoking since you were 10. What kind of household do you live in where your parents are allowing these things to happen? If you are pregnant you might as well keep smoking because if you stop you will just inhale second hand smoke anyway. You are in a bad situation and need to find a way out of it ASAP. If you do decide to have the baby, it will begin life inhaling second hand smoke either way.

I advice you to quit. I was a smoker and all of my friends were and still smokers. I got a painful flu about 3 months ago and couldn't smoke for a week and since that day I smoked less than 15 cigarettes and I am on my way of quitting.

One thing that will help you is to not carry cigarettes pack with you and don't buy any, believe me this helps a lot!

Besides smoking being bad 4 the baby if u r pregnant, it's bad 4 u 2. Don't u know that u can get lung or throat cancer? U should try 2 quit. And try 2 get the people around u 2 either quit or not smoke around u or the baby. It's really hazardous 2 health.

I use to smoke before I got pregnant with my son and you know if you love your child you will quit any bad habit, just plain and simple. After he was born I never went back to smoking because it is not healthy for the kids anyway. He is now 11 and the light of my life along with his sisters. Tell those around you to smoke outside.

You know the answer to this... don't smoke. The least of how it will affect your baby is asthma, which if asthma for a child gets bad enough, it can kill them. You knew smoking was bad for you when you started, you know it is bad for you now, so how can you even question whether or not you should smoke if you are pregnant? How much do you love your baby? Don't smoke. You have a choice, but your baby doesn't. don't smoke.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. u quite, get ur b/f to quit. and have a family meeting in ur house w/ ur family and b/f. say "i might be pregnate. i love everyone of u. and if i am going to bring a new human life into this world i need ur support and help. first off, everyone needs to either cut back A LOT or completely quit. for now and forever." and get patches, gum, pills, whatever works for u and ur family. this is serious. u want the best life for ur baby, and im sure ur family does to. this is an exalante chance for ur whole family to improve their lives. my grandfather died because he, like u, lived w/ smoker and smoked himself from a very young age. if u continue to self distruct, there will be serious health problems w/ the baby. if not, i garuntee u,the baby will smoke too when he/she gets older. so be gental and loving, and explain to them, this is when u need them the most.

p.s. sry bout the spelling u get the pic.

when I first conceived I was 24 and had been smoking since I was 11. All I could think of was my baby and I was able to quit cold turkey with no withdrawls. Just remember you are the one that can give this baby the best head start, so it is up to you. If you do continue, your baby will experience withdrawls upon birth, and you will have that to cope with as well as being a new mom

first off, you're 17 and can't even legally buy cigarettes! so you shouldn't be smoking, having a house full of smokers isnt' good too. you should quit if you are pregnant and get your boyfriend to quit with you, he should since he helped to get you pregnant!

Okay so when exactly did you FIND OUT you were pregnant. Your questions are conflicting with one another. If you smoke you might as well abort the baby if you couldn't care as much to STOP smoking for the child.
