We have evolved to the point that we have to alter the environment. We no longer alter our bodies to fit the environment. Since we cannot change the weather, we put up a barrier to it.

But bright sun is NOT the opposite of rain; it's the opposite of darkness. To ward off darkness, you need a flashlight. But good luck with the umbrella.

We are simply struggling with dualities trying to adjust our situation in order to make it more comfortable. Nature is imposing upon us different sufferings and we try to defend our bodies. This philosophy is common for all species - humans, animals and plants alike. We will continue to be bothered by dualities until we come to the transcendental platform.
