I honestly feel like he did, but I would love to hear other opinions. He knew it was going to penalties, but yet still subbed off Henry for Trezeguet (who missed his penalty shot). This was disasterous... Henry out and then Zidane gets red carded (he would have taken a kick as well). Anyway, it was a horrible substitute and I thought so immediately when I saw Henry walking off... opinions?

no, henry was spent. we have seen in the past that shooters who are tired miss. trezeguet scores big goals, he just missed. that happens. the ribery sub also came at a good time b/c he was out of gas. italy just scored great penalties.

I know that many people may not agree with me. But it was partially Zidane's fault. He was careless, let the insult get to him. If he had thought about it, he would have realized that he had done EXACTLY what the Italian player wanted him to do, do get annoyed, and then get a red card. Althought the insult by the Italian was completely out of order, Zidane should have realized the consequences in head butting someone. But also, the French coach made a lot of mistakes. He should not have taken Thierry Henry out when he did, if he did not want him to take a shot then why not take him out maybe 2 minutes before injury time, put stronger players on in times of need! Like come on!

I'm not sure if you noticed some time in extra time, Zidane lost his arm band. I said that was symbolic...BEFORE he did what he did.
I think Domench(French coach) is a big loser any way. So the combination of the coach and Zidane lost the match for France.

no it was Zidane who lost the game for France because he lost his temper the coach took of Henry because he was not playing his best i am not sure if it was due to his injury he got at the start of the game

That happens all the time,maybe you've seen the final when Baggio(italian) missed the same.I thought Lippi was going mad when he put De Rossi,Pirlo,Del Piero to shoot.

i think zidane lost the game for france, b/c he was the leader of the team, and he was sent off for acting stupid.
