It depends on the 2 people. If you really care for one another and trust each other the relationship can last as long as you want it to.

I've never seen them last. A friend is going through it right now. It's not working for them. He is always calling her. If she doesn't answer he gets pissed off. He says that she is cheating on him. It is a insecure relationship. She comes over to visit me on the weekends and he is calling every 5 mins to see if she is busy cheating. I don't see her relationship lasting but she won't listen to me. I guess she'll find out that it won't last.

I had one long distance relationship 1,000 miles apart with one week-long visit with him twice during that time... this pattern lasted 6 months... until we married, and I moved to where he was!
That was 4 years ago, and we're forever happily wed. Good luck.

It depends on the people. Some relationships can handle the distance others can not. I would think the key is honesty and being open with one another about your feelings.
