Yes, cause during the penalty shoot out, the players are more nervous and tend to miss the shots more easily. During the PSO, lousier teams might even win a good team. PSO does not really depends on skills and thus, is quite an unfair way to determine the winner.

You say it's unfair cause your team lost , that's the only reason why you think it's unfair . Your same team won the quarterfinal 98 over Italy by penalty shootouts, was it unfair ?? Do you think it was fair for the Italian team to lost their 90 , 94 and 98 WC by penalty shootouts ??
It's funny cause no one is complaining when their teams win . Actually , the French were not better than Italian players , their 1 goal came by the mysterious foul, Italy played much better in first half, but they were so tired in the 2nd half due to the fact that they played Germany the whole 120 minutes in the Semi.

No i don't. when two teams are as good, the only way to decide the best is penalty shots. But i understand what you mean with that. I also couldn't sleep when France won us over a penalty. But that's all football. Italy never had won in penalty shots, yesterday the managed it for the first time. So I just have to say congratulations to the new WC.

I think, we should have 11 penalties each side and ALL players HAVE to take a shot.....
and if the team had a red card and was sent off ? Only the remaining players shoot the penalties....that should ensure that the teams are more careful with the faults they make or risk getting to the penalties with less chances to win.

while PSO r rather boring, and take down the action of the game, they r a fine way to finish a game.
and italy was the better team. if they weren't then france's players would be headbutting ppl, and missing PKs.
and i haven't seen u complain about any of the times france has won a game on PKs

Penalty shots are not unfair. How else would you propose finishing that game yesterday? Not to mention, it is the most exciting part of the game and you have to wait 120 minutes for a chance to even see them.

Yes. Really it is unfair. I will not only pose a problem but will give solution too. Here it is. After giving extra time of b15 minutes each team, there should be sudden death. as soon as a goal is scored by any team , the game will end..

So what other way would u suggest?
How can the decide who wins? Play extra time endlessly? But players get tired, fans get tired.... it would be pointless to carry on for ages... What would u do if they played for 120 minutes, they are all exhausted, but still no winner? Carry on playing? for how long? 3 hours? 4 hours? a day?

POS's were banned for a while (i guess the last 2 World Cups) and were replaced by the "Golden Goal" which is they keep playing until someone scores. this is even more unfair! so they came back to POS

How you can finish an equal game ?
If there's better solution, they already use.
I think PSO is balance for the 2 teams.
About luck, do you think there's no luck in 120 mins played ?
