I've held both and you do NOT need a degree for a TS SCl
there are 18 year old soldiers in the US military with a Top Secret.

The degree is worth more...education can never be taken away.

You can lose a security clearance just by downloading a virus inadvertently or opening a bithday email on a government work station.

A Bachelors Degree is probably worth more. That first answer wasn't correct. I held a Top Secret Cleance with SCI but I do not have a Bachelors Degree.

Either way, both are worth thousands. To the government, they are both equally important. In the civilian sector, a bachelors degree is worth more.

I guess it all depends on what your intentions are.

The degree. With that under your belt you can also go for the clearance.

The clearance without the degree gets you a low paid job with little prospects of advancement until you get a degree.

The clearence. A degree costs nothing for an employer, but the clearnce can cost $100k for an employer to get you.
