In some cases they are, it depends on what they are fighting for. Some "terrorists" are fighting a religious war, while others are fighting against the western way of life, while still others are fighting to gain territory they think is rightfully theirs. Another question is this: who controls the messages we see and hear? The Media. And in the media terrorist sounds more dangerous than an Islamic Jihadist and it sounds better if we are fighting a war on terror rather than a war on Islam from a media perspective.

I believe you are correct. The jihadist will use any event to further their cause: Israel, Iraq war, Afghanistan invasion... Basically their way of thinking is that if you are not with them you are against the. And how do they deal with that even amoung their own? They kill them! They are saying that the Jews and Christians should convert to Islam or be eliminated. What else would you call this then if not a Holy War? To comment on another comment I would suggest that the history of Palestine be investigated by those who suggest that the creation of Israel was 'usurping' other's land or country. To be a country there are certain agreed requirements: boundaries, currency and central government. Palestine, an area, not necesarily a country, did not any of these.

To your so called Jihadists, it might be a Holy war, but to rational people that have a grip on reality it is some Religious fanatics trying to force the rest of the world to accept their tyrannical domination.I thank God that the U.S. the Brits.and the other Alias have the top notch well trained Armies and the technology to fight the 'TERRORISTS' in the parts of the world where they come from and not in our cities and streets.

being a PR consultant to UNHCR , I can say , that jihad is not a terrorist group. it is a group of ppl who want to get Israelis out of a usurped land... which i seem to think is fair. i can not fathom the logic behind taking over a land that is not yours, invading it, killing it's people and displacing them... it is just not right.

And I believe that George bush genius , said that his war on terror is a "holy war" a crusade heheheheh something you do not say in a public speech .. it is really beyond me what is it that the super power is trying to do ...

terror has no identity , it is cobweb of greed, power hungry blood sucking cartels .

Please stop calling it a Holy War. That is what is breeding hate. It's getting on my nerves.

We're at war because our country was attacked by some dumb asss cult of a thing and now it makes Muslim people look bad and makes it look like a Christian/ Muslim boxing match but it's not.

It's a Holy war to them...they commit terrorism in the name of Allah...who in fact is an evil deciever by the name of Satan. The real God does't kill his own innocent people.
