If deserving to win the world cup entails being a boring defencive team that aren't really bothered about scoring goals and are more bothered about rolling around the floor acting and trying to get players red cards then Italy are the team that deserves it definitely. I'm English and never thought i would want France to win anything but i have to admit i was cheering them on last night, at least France had players on the pitch that were trying to score goals from open play and not just from set pieces. Boring Boring Italy

I'm so happy Italy won,I lost my voice this night but doesn't matter because we did the greatest street party ever!!
The team was united,with all the scandals,the managed to stay focused,and Cannavaro and Buffon were absolutely fantastic,10 different players scored!
So yes they did deserve to win!!!

Of course they did. They were far the best team, they didn't play so much defensively as they used to, they had the best goalkeeper (Buffon) and defense (Zambrotta, CANNAVARO, Nesta, Grosso) and probably the best coach (Lippi) on the 18th World Cup. In my opinion they totally deserved the triumph and Cannavaro deserved the Golden Ball more than Zidane (especially after the red card).

Yes. They got there doing the best they could and better then their opponents. And they "sent way" the "course" of always loosing in penalty shots. So yes. They did great. Great team they done a wonderfull WC, it was very peasant to watch them! Buffon excellent too. Absolutely more beautiful team in WC!

NO! They should never have been awarded a penalty kick against Australia (Round of 16). It was one of the worst decisions in the history of the game Who knows what would have happened if the player didn't take a dive?
IMO, Germany was the best team of the tournament.

yes...they played very well...in fact, both teams (italy and france) were good and both deserved to be champion...but unfortunately there will only be one champion and italy won by having better luck than france....

no i think they didnt deserve 2 even though i go for them i think germany should of won beacuse they elimated alot of good teams , they are the host team,and they offer alot
