In the NBA, NFL. MLB, if you get knocked over, you get up, act like it's water off a duck's back. Think of the Dwayne Wade commercial. If you were to play-act the way soccer players do, you would be absolutely ridiculed by the media and fans. Can you imagine LeBron faking a foul by writhing in pain on the floor when he'd only be brushed lightly, if at all? I don't know about you, but don't you think all the faking that goes on in soccer is a little antithetical to what the sports is all about? Don't get me wrong - I love soccer and I think soccer players are incredible. But all this faking of injuries and fouls really bothers me.

Totally true...drives me crazy, and it's one reason that soccer is not as popular in the US...it's disgraceful that acting has become a part of such a noble game and that men describing themselves as athletes behave that way...there's even a foul that can be called for "taking a dive" in the box...that says it all...

I agree with the part about faking injuries part. I know they are doing it to get the foul, but no sport does it. It is pathetic. Yes they run almost nonstop for about 90 minutes, but they do too much faking. I think they should be taken off the field for the rest of the game, even if they are not hurt. It will teach them a lesson. Only the good soccer players don't fake injuries!

I would agree. I think it bothers everyone out there. However you have to understand, a lot of coaches use this as a strategy. I have played soccer for a long time, and I have seen many coaches. I have been told by some...that if I get knocked down, if it seems believable to roll on the ground in pain. It is very unethical, but that is the world we live in today. Pathetic eh?

Blame Fifa, the coaches, the referees. Rich spoiled kids without parental supervision will almost always try to get away with things. Because FIFA is not doing their job, I think it is up to us; the fans to boycott the games whenever players like C. Ronaldo and others are scheduled to play. As long as we support these cheats it will continue and nothing will change.
