What I really felt from the match is that the Italians are really very racist and aggressive, in the way they dealt with the black French and in their arrogant way they dealt with the French team as a whole, I'm sure that that Italian has really said something very offensive to Zidan to drive him to do that in front of millions and mostly he insulted something sacred to him.

With the help of an expert lip reader the Daily Mail revealed what triggered Zidane's attack.
Speaking in Italian, Materazzi grabbed his opponent as the ball ran away from them and told him: "Hold on, wait, that one's not for *****(dregs) like you."
Zidane's response was not visible, but as the players walked forward Materazzi said: "We all know you are the son of a terrorist whore." Just before the butt, he was seen saying: "So just f*** off."
The lip-reader, who is employed in court cases as an expert witness, can understand foreign languages phonetically and the translatation was made with the aid of an Italian interpreter whose transcript supports Zidane's claim that Materazzi had made a 'very serious' comment.

No-one knows for sure yet but the news today suggested it was along the lines of a racial comment that included a reference to Zidane's Muslim background by way of describing him as a terrorist.
All a bit disappointing for the Italians really.

I think Zidane and Materazzi should talk to the media.Because The Guardian said that Materazzi called Zidane a terrorist or others say that he insulted his sister.
Anyway you guys is not the first time Zidane does this,he did it in a game with Juventus, and he crashed one's leg in another match.
He was why out of line and that was a bad example for thousands of children that admire him!!!

I belive that the other player had said 'Hope Jean suffered'. Jean was Zidane's trainer/coach who had recentley died from a 2 year battle with Cancer.

doesn't matter what what said, Zidane is a grown-up isn't he? he thoroughly deserved to get sent off and shouldn't have been given the world cup player of the tournament award, he shouldn't even have got a medal!

Italian guy? You know nothing about this game, eh?
Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.
I learned that in pre-school.
