I think it would be interesting to work in Amman for a while. If you don't like it, you could always come back to the US.

One of my best friends from college has her own TV news show over there. I'd love to go visit her.

Oh my goodness. I would love to work in Jordan. One of my friends just got back from a month-long job over there and he had a wonderful time. I would definitely take the job if I were you. I'm jealous!

If it were me.....I would take it in a minute! Just relax and adjust to new people, sites, sounds, cultures. Don't be the ugly American and go around holding up your finger; "America is #1", like some drunken football fan saying this land is so far behind! Wear a big smile and be humble and open to new things. I always wanted to go to Petra, the ancient city cut out of stone there...so different! You are so lucky to have the opportunity.
"JUST DO IT"! You will never be sorry! Don't forget to SMILE and keep a journal for wonderrful memories!

Well getting experience in another country is always good. You don't really have to give up your home- hang on to it and just rent an apartment over there. By the looks of your name, seems like you made the decision anyway lol.
