No, because the point of it is HOW they arrived here in the first place, if they are given the residency just because they marry an american it doesn't mean they reached america legally. Marriage should have no baring on it, if they get deported their american spouse should go back with them. THat way they can help build their country to make it a happier place for all of their people to want to stay.

I think we should. If someone legally marries an American, even overseas, then that person should be able to obtain permission for residency in the US. Of course, the US government should check the foreigner's criminal and health record; if the foreigner poses any sort of danger to the US, they should not be allowed to come to the US.
The number of Americans who marry foreigners every year is small, and the US can easily absorb them; it's not the same sort of situation as with illegal aliens.
