I think we should have a program that reimburses students for their education based on performance. If a student maintains a 3.0 average, they should be reimbursed for that semester, provided they enroll in the next semester. No monies would be paid until after the first 2 semesters are completed, as the possibility of paying for 'dropped' classes would exist...we send so much money out of this country, and, yet we have so many students who want to go to college, but cannot afford it. We need to invest in our country's citizens...our young people's future.

FAFSA is not what I am talking about. It has limitations that this program wouldn't.

Yes.

It used to be a lot easier to get funding for graduate school -- but Ronal Reagankilled that program. It is unlikely that a Republican president will do anything to improve this situation.

You are so right my friend, this country never does a great program to help the people that live here. But the money for college should be done for all students, young and old because so many kids wait to go to college when they have enough money but that never happens until they are much older. Also your right the waiting until after your first or second semester would help keep the money from going to dropped class but it would help even more if you do drop a class after money is dispersed then they should have to pay it back. Even a night college is out of reach for so many people that people are working for little pay and hard work.

This is a good idea, to an extent, im sure there would be flaws. Unfortunatly we live in a socity where the people would try to take advantage of this as soon as you granted it. We would have people stealing, orginizations stealing, and even the possibility of universities padding grades so they would get paid. LOL.. good idea.

there are a couple programs out there for the un wealthy. Me personally i get grants each semester. Which i do not have to repay as long as i complete the class with a passing grade. It is VERY helpful in education. And in states like Florida, where i live, they give you a great oppertunity to get schlorships. If you graduate HS with a 3.0 and get like 1000 on the SAT's they will pay for 75% tuition each semester. This is very good too.

I think it should help the ones who are studying really hard and have no financial possibilities to affors paying the fees. I live in Eastern Europe and here all Universities have also lieus for the first candidates (the biggest marks). For example there are 100 lieus for Economics: 50 with no fees (for the first 50 marks) and 50 with fees (for the next 50 students). I think it should be the same all over. Cause there are lots of students with potential but who can not afford paying the fees because they come from poor families, so Government should support dilligent people as this world anyway belongs to rich people, so poor ones have to have given a chance to show they can make it in life.

Definitely. I live in Ireland and our government pays our fees for 4 years, we must pay for accommodation and books. If they didn't i wouldn't be going to college in September. Now Ireland has one of the mast skilled workforce in the world and our ecomony is growing. I feel bad for americans who must get loans so young to pay for education. The government will still get revenue at the end of the day.

college in this country should be free if you maintain a certain standard. In Georgia, college is free for in-state residents who hold a minimum GPA.
