Three dogs, a lizard, a fish, a horse, and (unofficially) a squirrel.

One dog is a lesbian, one is obsessed with playing Fetch, and the other thinks he's a cat. All are gentle enough.

The lizard wants nothing more than to sleep. It saw a picture of a Chameleon on my laptop once, and since then goes crazy when he is near it, and tries to get into the screen. He's gentle if you're gentle.

The fish is, well, a fish. As for gentle, I wouldn't know. I suppose so.

The horse is old, lazy, moves when he wants, not when I want, but I love him. He's too lazy to be anything but gentle.

The squirrel comes and goes as he pleases, but he's been haunting our woodpile for three years. I really don't think he's gentle. He's big, and would be mean if cornered.

All of them are psychotic.

I have two dogs, four cats, a bird, a fish, and a rabbit. They are all very gentle and friendly and provide a lot of happiness.

As for the most gentle type of pet, I would say cats. Cats are quiet, and laid back and are generally content to sit in someones lap and sleep, as opposed to dogs which are generally pretty energetic, or rabbits which are nervous.

My wife has a chihuahua that sleeps all day and always wants to be held, so he's gentle and spoiled. Me, i have a Australian Shepard/Blue Heeler mix and she is crazy, i lay on the ground and she runs all over me bitting my ears, she's not gentle at all.

I have a dog and a cat. The cat is as gentle as can be. The dog tries to be, she just doesn't realize how big she is.

I have an african grey parrot. I don't think he could be described as "gentle." Although most days he's pretty friendly, he will poop wherever he pleases and bite you if you do something he doesn't quite like.

I keep trying to convince my boyfriend we need a cat. *sigh*

I have a small miniature pincher. She is very friendly and loving and is very gentle, even with small children who want to handle her roughly when i'm not looking. She is awesome!! She is 9 but she hasn't changed since I got her. She is also very loyal and attached.
