Have you tried the One Stroke Painting by "Donna Dewberry"/

You can find starter kits at any craft store also Walmarts.
They are around 20.00$, it is easy fun, and you eventually
can make money with this project.

It seems a little intimidating at first, but give it a try I think you
might enjoy it. I use it to relieve stress.

Knitting and crochet can be inexpensive if you use inexpensive yarn, pencil sketching, making bags and purses out of old jeans, gardening (in pots if you don't have a yard), You apparently have a computer, how about manipulating photos with software such as Photoship or Paint Shop Pro or Microsoft Picture It? That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Oh, or read your way through the list of 100 best books of the 20th century, found at this link:

Gardening? Its fun, it can save you some money growing your own food, and its delicious.

Walking? Might sound a little tame but its relaxing exercise. In fact, exercise in general is a good hobby, it keeps you healthy and builds a nice looking body. Swimming at the local pool, or a yoga class, or running.

Learn to knit basic washcloths. You'll need a tiny outlay of money for a pair of needles; that'll be about five bucks at Joanns. Grab a ball of cotton yarn, your choice, about two bucks. Then get online and check out some knitting tutorials or go to the library and check out a copy of something like Stitch & ***** and go.

I like Croching. You can learn on line, free. You can get a hook, normally less then 5.00 depending if you get metal or plastic but free if you ask someone. Also wool can be bought for less then 10.00 for a huge ball or again ask someone around you. Knittiers and crochers ALWAYS have wool around they are will to share. Also try joining you local freecycle group. www.freecycle.org . Here you can find all sorts of things that you can get for free that will help you out. I got my knitting machine for free. So big or small you can do it with little to no money.

How are you with paints? There are so many things you can paint on including rocks, baskets, plaques, yard sale finds, and so on. Little bottles of colored craft paints are less than $1 a bottle (at a store like wmart) and a set of brushes less than $10.

The more you paint, the easier it gets, and skill improves with time. I've seen so many items for sale at craft shows and people seem to love painted items. I've seen wooden snowmen, ornaments, leaves, feathers, all decorated with craft paints.

Once you get some skill, you can fancy up a painted item with glued on things like beads, feathers and so on.

You could even buy or grow some ornamental gourds and paint those.

Here are some sites with ideas:

You can look at the above sites to get ideas. The very last link has lots of links to ideas.

I love doing crafts, have supplies for many different kinds, and don't tie myself down to just one. Crafting can be addicting.

Have fun.

I make jewelry. You can get beads and wire at a craft store for only a couple bucks. I think the most expensive item was a pair of needle nosed pliers.

Learn to make a website and work on that, driving traffic and stuff. That will also pay off for you as you'll have another really marketable skill.
