C. Ronaldo definitely did not deserve it. And, I would say he was not given it because for that award, the Fifa committee could look back on the footage of the matches and see that he bamboozled the ref into giving Rooney a red card... definitely not sportsmanlike or showing any great character at all! I am happy he didn't get it; he is a sniveling little weasel and has been outshone in premier play by Rooney constantly on Man U... he had a good world cup when he wasn't shedding crocodile tears, but overall... definitely fair overall. The winner of that award should show ability and character... someone who is showing himself as a player who will be idolized over his upcoming career... something Ronaldo definitely will not have.

To be a football player is not only having the high skills. Also it is to have a high character and sportsmanship which C.Ronaldo has nothing to do with.
That's why i do believe he didn't deserve the award.

Fair or not,I think the reason they didn't was due to all the controversy over the Rooney affair. The public made it quite clear how they felt about him, and it not only the English. He did it all himself!

i read that he would have won the prize if he hadn't failed the fifa standard for fair play...guess that should give him something to think about, huh?
