I'm sure the president doesn't have time to personally read all his mail. Are there people who skim through the mail and report to Mr.Bush, for example, " You've got 935 against your war in Iraq, 899 for the war 423 God bless you's and 785 wishing you a happy birthday......."? What actually happens? How is it done? This is a real question...not a pro and con George W. Bush.....

They go to "Bulk" mail and are deleted!
They may have people who "Skim" over the mail quickly and any pertinent information could be passed on to Advisers and then the President. FOR EXAMPLE; let's say a person sends a letter they going to blow up some important building. This will be viewed by the "Speed Reader" then it considered of some importance. This letter would then be passed on to some Higher Official who would then pass it on to the FBI. The President may be informed and he may not until the FBI can investigate.
The President has very many things he has to address everyday. Advisers etc. keep up with this and they discuss the matters in Conference. Look at Iraq; Bush really not know any more than what the Pentagon tells him and other top officials. He can then make an Informed Decision as to what they need to do.
Below is the White House Home Page and a few emails, I not sure if the president@ is still active.
