Babies are *slightly* more likely to be born at night. This is probably because mothers are more relaxed at night, and mammals of *all* species don't usually give birth unless they feel safe and relaxed.

Babies aren't only born between midnight and dawn, they are born whenever they are ready, regardless of the time. My kids were born at 6:05 pm and 12:42 pm.

Probably the same reason they're born between dawn and midnight. Babies are born all day and all night...they're not ALL born at night.

I have read in the past, because I was looking for the same answer, since I went into labor with both during the middle of the night, that when you rest at night, you are usually lowest on liquids, most people stop drinking within a few a hours of bed, and your hormones are less diluted at this time therefore being at higher levels in the system, and this triggers labor.
This is why dehydration can lead to pre term labor.

I'm not sure if they are usually born during that time but I'm pretty sure that more women go into labor in the evening and over night hours since they are more relaxed (and unsuspecting:).
When the babies are actually born depends on the length of a mothers labor.

There is no logical answer because babies are born when God is ready for them to come into this world.
