Pirates, definitely. I was so damn pissed off at Superman Returns. Boring and humourless storyline, not very spectacular directing and acting as well. The only thing that redeem it a little is the effects, but the effects does not impress much too. If you like Bryan Singer or Superheroes flicks, go for X-men or Spidey. And of course, between Pirates and Superman? Go for Pirates.

Pirates. I have not seen Superman yet, but I saw Pirates with my wife and kids yesterday. The movie lived up to all of the hype in my opinion. Everyone that I know that has seen Superman was dissapointed.

Well, Pirates is a good movie because it's fast paced and exciting, but Superman has some really great visuals. So I'd say watch Pirates if you just want some good fun, but watch Superman if you want to appreciate great movie making. Ofcourse, Pirates is great filmmaking aswell. I don't know, watch 'em both.

It is great when you can watch a sequel that lives up to the first movie. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest Rocks! I don't know about Superman because I have not seen it yet.

pirates of the carribean was excellent; superman was a tad boring. pirates had great visuals, fantastic action, comedy, and a fun story line. it was worth the price of admission.

Funny you should ask that. They were both playing at the drive-in Sat night when we went. We chose Pirates, but I fell asleep. :) I'll try it again though before Superman. Probably wait for Superman on PPV.

Compare each on http://www.rottentomatoes.com/ which shows many reviewers comments and ranks movies. Superman gets a 75% ranking, Pirates a 52%. I have not seen either yet.
