I happen to be a musician my self and to be honest I don't like the fact we can listen to music from the Dream theater for example without giving them the respect of buying their music. What do you think?

i think that downloading songs is not bad, so long as you support the artist in a different way......buy a t-shirt, or bumper sticker, or pin, or concert ticket or whatever......now, some artists may only have one or two good songs, in which case i don't feel bad for downloading b/c if they would put out better songs, i might have felt compelled to give them some of my money!
and there are some artists that i will download, and then later go out and BUY the cd, b/c with a cd you get liner notes and stuff that you don't get when you download, so if i were to meet the artist that i d/l i would tell them that is what i do!

I only download music from sites that I pay for. But I actually buy the whole CD if I hear clips of songs from the album and enjoy them

I wouldn't feel the need to tell my favorite artist that I download their music. I have all the CD's/albums they made anyway I wouldn't download.

No, because if they were actually my favorite, I would buy the albums. I like to support the bands I like, but hey, that's just me. Silly me, wanting to pay for the services that the artists have rendered.

Yes, cause I'm not gonna buy a CD if I only like 2 songs on it.

i can't download music because i don't have internet at my house. i get most of my music from a fellow metalhead. i tell him what i want, give him a cd, and he downloads it for me.
