Hong Kong is now part of China (no longer a British Protectorate) so people from Hong Kong are Chinese.

if you are chinese born there, you'd still be a Hong Konger
If you are of other nationalities then you'd still be a hong konger...
any way u look at it, you'll be stuck with that name.
