When there are references to mom giving someone the laundry money, is that what she found in the pockets, or is that for taking in other peoples laundry?

I am guessing here it was taking in other people's laundry, but the idea of the pockets is interesting. I have laundered some money in my time. Nice to see you back.

Usually it is the same as lunch money. Mom gives you the money to get it done or pay the one that did the work. Pick up the laundry.

It could be the other way around if she (mom) did laundry for others.

There is also the possibility she is laundering money...money made that way would be laundry money too. ;-)

i have never heard of that, but it sounds like she gave someone the money she had saved to do the laundry.
