he headbutted him not kicked him nincompoop and the italian guy probably said racial remarks to him. Rumor is that this whole thing was scripted and not many people know that Zidane is part African so the defender said to him "Go back to Africa you don't belong in Europe" and no I don't think the headbutt was as vicious as the Italian player made it look and how the ABC annoucer said it was. He dived that's what everyone in the World Cup is doing and I'm mother f####n tired of it. FIFA needs to crack down on that

I agree he must be sent off. but why?
i have a different theory.
1) I think that Zidane was definately going to get the golden boot award and now the Italian captian might just win it .
2) the italians knew that if they provoked Zidane -( verbally) they would get him red carded too because he will re act and if zidane was not in the game it would be an easier for them perhaps to win ?
think about it -
why would someone do this in the last game of his career for his country?
