To be in love. Who can correctly answer that?. Sur i think a collection of many different things constitute to the reality of being in love.
The way you're always happy when he comes around. Your eyes light up when you talk about him. You have a warm feeling all over when you think of him. You are able to spend time together and talk about anything and everything your dreams your fears. You long to see him and when you finally do you do not want to part ways. Feeling safe when he is around you etc etc

Well you do not need to call for the understanding, once you are in love it happpens automatically ,and you will definately know you are in love.
