Thanks to all of you who are concerned for the welfare of the baby.
But im well aware of the dangers of buying a second hand car seat, i deal in baby equitment so i know what im looking for its just this specific car seat are more difficult to come by due to the lenghth of time you can use one for, not just for new babies.
So im asking for no more replies about the danger involved with buying second hand car seats. Thankyou.

If you're not in too much of a hurry, on bank holidays there is a great carboot at tollgate school, BSE, next B/H is end August. other than that try any carboot, assuming they are second hand make sure you look under the fabric for anything that looks wrong, and try to knock them down to a fiver, if not less.

However you can get very decent carseats from as little as £30.00 from maybe mothercare, toys r us or even your local sunday markets. Good Luck.

I would question the wisdom of buying second-hand baby car seat. You never know whether it's been in an accident, whether its condition would endanger the child.

I'm assuming that you're taking turns with your friends to watch each other's babies. Why not all of you pitch in to buy a new car seat, and pass it around to whoever's turn it is to babysit? You can get a decent car seat for £100. If there are 3 of you, that's just £33 each. How much would you pay for a second hand car seat and risk it not being safe?
