Cannavaro took the Silver Ball but is a true champion sportsman; Zidane won the Golden Ball and if he has an iota of sportmanship, he should decline to accept the award because of his inexcusable assault on a player. It just shows the hyprocrisy of the FIFA organsiation and what it stands for.

I think Zidane is the best man for the Golden Ball Award.
no one plays it like great Zidane.. the midfield magician..
I dont think anyone should wipe all of his previous efforts base on one silly mistake he made. Its just not fair.
And besides, its' his last World Cup, have mercy.. at least let him retire with pride and relief.
Zidane deserves it better than anyone not because the voters are sympathetic but because Zidane's skill proves him worthy
As for Cannavaro, I think he is the best Azzurri player.. no one can deny his skills. Fifa is fair. he got the Silver Ball Award
Pirlo got the bronze, not surprised, budweiser man of match for 2 times (ITA vs FRA & ITA vs GER). he's always the one who assits the shots and gives rythm to the italian squad

Um...Because he's one of the dirtiest players in football? Did you see that take down of Zidane that Cane Vero pulled off. Disgraceful, where was the '4th official' then? If anyone on the italian side deserved it, it was the goalie, not your thug.
