obviously she is selfish...I would suggest you find someone who is more sensitive to your needs to be a BEST friend....Best Friends are supposed to be there for you and you for them...obviously that is not your situation with this individual...

Well, by asking on a general website instead of asking her I would say you are probably not her best friend. Maybe she has something going on and doesn't want to be around a lot of people. If you are questioning this it is best to ask her.

She's probably your friend, but she may be just a bit jealous. Some people are just like that. She can't help being envious of you. I have family like that. She just wants to be like you. You're probably very popular and she can't stand it. She's just hating right now. I would be the bigger person and say "I really wish you could make it"

Do u think by going to movies she stop being ur friend? is ur friendship so much shallow? i think it is better to provide space to all ur friends and understand thier view point.
Try finding out by speaking to him/her, for the reson, u will be surprised to know the fact and would definitely excuse him/ her.

maybe she's got a date with someone really special.. or maybe she planned this way before your birthday.. the whole world does not have to revolve around you just cause it's your birthday.. of course she's ya friend.
