It is said when you start taking contraceptive pills you have to have the test once a year.

Hi yes once you start to have sex you will need to talk with an OB/GYN about papsmears and birth control and condom use. You need much more information and can find it on the Yahoo health site. You also have to have paps if you get any kind of infection after sex. So you really need to talk to your Dr.

Now start getting them now.
You will need to have one per year from now on.
They are not the high point of your day but they do not hurt uncomfortable yes but not painful.
And the doctor has done many do not be embarassed. It is a routine part of good care for women.

Now. IF you are on any birth control you SHOULD have had one when it was first prescribed. If not then your doctor screwed up. If you're not on birth control...stop having sex until you do get on birth control. And don't forget the condoms.

Once you become sexually active it is advisable to have a Pap smear done once every year. I suggest you make an appointment with a gynaecologist ASAP.
