Pore space, the further you go down, would be filled with gases like water vapor and CO2, mainly because of the increasing temperature. Hydrocarbons are also possible. But it would be quite a way before you reached that. The only way to get rid of your groundwater is pump it out.
Another thing to keep in mind it the void space will decrease the further you go down.

The thing is, when you dig down, you'll dig through the crust,(which has the water in it), then all of the middle and all that,(where you'll get burnt) and then back to the crust (which has the water in it), and then if you fly, you can reach space (where you can't breath) Quite simple.
