I'd forbid read meat (no pork, sheep, veal etc). GMO would have to be declared in red letters.
I'd promote free energy research and usage, and build more bicycle roads, and at the same time ban personal cars or at least make them - and gas - extremely expensive.
I'd reduce working hours to 4 days a week and/or 6 hours a day.
I'd have people over 50 retire and repopulate rural areas, tend their gardens, live a healthy life and plant trees wherever they can. This would help reduce unemployment of the young.
All political, economical and ecological decision-makers would be younger than 50, and the older than 50 could be their consultants.
I'd introduce spirituality, ecology and ethics in school curriculums.
I'd use the media opinion-making possibilities to promote all these changes as trends and necessities, thereby reinforcing the positive attitude towards them.

I would outlaw reality TV and stop the talentless nobodies that it produces from acting like they are a somebody.
Stop taking refugee's. Become Isolationists and stop watching America 24/7. They don't watch or care what we do in Europe.

It would probably be the shift towards American culture. Ireland, for example, is becoming more capitalist. In addition, many Irish people are losing their cultural identity as a result of both an increase in American influence and the loss of the national currency. The pace of life is becoming rushed. People are not as family-oriented. Much like Americans, Irish people are not having as many children, moving far from family, working longer hours, and having children much later in life. Many people are lonely and unhealthy due to a rushed pace of life and solitary living.

Britain being classed as European, we are British and proud of it. It's bad enough our Government making lousy decisions but we don't need Brussels giving us a whole other set of rules and laws too.

Write down stricter laws against racism. Even though they don't always work in the US, it is an honorable and necessary beginning.

I'd move it closer to the US so it wouldn't seem like an unattainable goal to visit.
