Normally I wouldn't advise drinking as a way to solve problems but sometimes when I just don't think I can get up off my butt and clean I'll open a beer, turn on MTV videos and blast the hits and go to work. On beer 2 or 3 I'm zipping along and it doesn't seem like so much work. Obviously only a solution if you don't have to go anywhere and are of age. If not, I also have found that plugging the hands free thingy into my cell phone and immersing myself in mindless girlfriend chatter does wonders for making housework fly. Good Luck!

Make a list of all housework to be done.
Then prioritise.
Decide on what MUST be done and what isn't essential. Write down consequences if essential stuff isn't done.
Then design a reward system. You will know what kind of reward so for completing each task you give yourself the appropriate reward. Some people put 20p into a box every time a task is completed and then spend the money when it can pay for a treat.
Any other ideas, just ask.

Do one of the chores at a time and break it up. I wish I only had three things to do, you could probably get it all done in the time it takes to ask or answer a question here. You could try giving yourself 30 minutes and try to get it all done quick, then you have the rest of the day. Either way it has to be done, housework is one of those things that doesn't go away. Put on some of your favorite music and just do it.

Put some music on and move. Maybe get on the phone with a friend who has housework to do as well. Misery loves company. Or imagine someone (like an in-law) is coming over who will make snide comments about your house if it isn't clean. That all helps me, plus once it is done I can do what I want, guilt or nag free. Be happy that you don't have to cook!!

I've got another angle to deal with this! How about using less clothes and dishes so they stay clean and you don't have to wash as many? I use the cheapest paper plates I can find for most of the smaller meals and snacks. Buy forks, knives, cups and glasses with the person's name on them and everybody washes their own eating utensils themselves after they finish eating. Use tin foil to protect the oven from getting greasy and recycle the aluminum foil. Put a paper plate over the top of things that spatter in the microwave. Some clothes don't need washing every time you wear them. Finally, if you don't mess up the house, then you won't need to clean it as much. Husbands and children need to learn how to minimize the work you do for them. All this results in energy savings in electric utility bills too! It's smart to be do things efficiently so you can use your energies elsewhere.

DO it. Do not rest. Hustle hustle hustle until it is all finished. Push yourself to not do anything else until you are done. Also, set a timer for each part of the task and try to beat the clock. All this creates a "sense of urgency" that most humans lack on our own. KNOW that when you are done, you can sit on your duff DESERVEDLY free from guilt with a sparkling pad. Everything is now "a treat:" watching a show, sitting down, checking the Internet, eating a snack, et cetera. Works for my procrastinating bu#*. Try it.

I know that feeling.
Trouble with housework is it just needs doing again tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow and there really are far more interesting things to do.
One of my favourite birthdays cards sent to me a few yea\rs ago was a drawing of a woman blowing up her house with the caption "That's the housework done" said Dotty. Descibes my feelings towards it.

Tell yourself how proud you will be of your clean home. My best time for having energy is in the morning. I do many chores before I go to work, and I work two jobs and go to college part time.
Try repeating "cleanliness is next to Godliness" over and over.

This is what I do for a living. I guess the pay motivates me, if anything. Maybe you should treat yourself to something special for doing the job. ( Buy a new outfit, shoes, banana split, whatever)
