I think nightrider gave a terrific answer.

Outside of the first set, this was a sensational match, with about 20 to 25 truly world-class rallies thrown in. I am a huge fan of both players, as well as a big fan of tennis (and almost all sports for that matter) since the mid-70's, featuring Borg-Connors, etc. With all that, I think, and hope, that Federer-Nadal will truly become a great rivalry. Barring injuries, it has potential to be the best, including any combination of McEnroe, Borg and Connors, or in more recent times, Agassi and Sampras. (I guess for the women, it will be hard to top Evert-Navratilova)

I thought yesterday's match was a great final that Federer really needed to win. And, both players really showed their talent and their grit. Great stuff!

Nadal improved his game tremendously on grass court. People said it can't be ... and he proved them wrong. Federer had the shakes to play against Nadal and I think that is a credit to Nadal.

I would say Nadal got into Federer's head. Until then, there was nobody to beat this young Swiss. I think there is plenty of good tennis ahead for us. We are so lucky.

In many upcoming finals, I think it is going to be a match against these two. In US Open, I think Nadal will win. He moves faster - just a touch - than Federer. Clay courts help Nadal a lot because of his speed.

Nadal's confidence even to the last set where he played like he is winning..! It speaks volumes about this guy. Yes, watch him in future games. It will be a treat. I like Federer too.

I knew Federer was going to win. He always does. I think he is the greatest tennis player there ever was, even better than Borg! I hope he keeps winning Wimbledon for years to come. I was glad he got to play Nadal at the finals, since they have such a rivalry. But he made Nadal look like a nobody. It's great!

i think that it was a great match. after Nadal lost the first set 0-6 i thought he wasn't going to have a good day. but he won a set, that surprised me. i love to see Nadal and Federer play against each other. Federer didn't even think Nadal would make it to the finals. well that was surprising.

It is nice that Federer won, yet Nadal put up a good fight. Nadal has gotten better on grass, yet Federer is still the best on that surface. Nadal will have his time when he gets to be just as good as Federer.

I thought Nadal should have won the second and third set and taken the game into the fourth set where he should have won.

I hate Roger Federrer, I'm sick of him, he needs to get his butt beat more than just a couple of times, he needs to get his butt beat before he gets to the finals... I didn't even watch the male final because, oh my goodness, it's Roger Federrer yet AGAIN!! Getting kind of OLD!!
