Theodore Rex, Teddy Roosevelt He could read multiple languages and had a habit of reading a book every night to come down in the morning at the White house with notes. He greatly improved the national park system and won the Nobel Peace Prize (when it still meant something) for brokering the resolution of the Russo-Japanese War.
As for the G.W. Bush haters - he was smart enough to win and nothing any of you have been able to do can change that. Get over the anger and work toward a positive goal for a change. Stop whining - it is boring and you are banal (look it up).

Fact. The President with the highest IQ ever is Bill Clinton. The lowest? G.W. Bush. Second lowest? His Dad.

It is leadership, not intelligence, that make a good president. All presidents have been of above average intelligence, so it would seem, but many, especially in the last century, have been below average in leadership.
GWBush is a leader. He makes decisions based on what is right or best for America, not what makes his poll numbers better.
Clinton was supposedly brilliant, but he was a poll-follower, seeking to be admired in the NY Times rather than being concerned with doing what was right and good for America. Witness his debacles in Haiti, Somalia, his failures to do anthing about Iraq, North Korea or Rwanda, and his decision to bomb Serbian civilians from high altitude (ensuring extensive collateral damage) so no American military would be harmed.
Wilson was supposedly intelligent, but his idealistic idiocies in WW1 set the stage for WW2. FDR was also supposedly intelligent, but his Stalinist meddling with the economy caused the depression to last for years and years beyond when it would have naturally recovered. He also attempted to become dictatorial by packing the court, and brought the evils of socialism into government, to the detriment of our country.
No, high intelligence is not the key to a good president. Leadership and vision are.

The Presidents IQ was rated at 129, so that's not too shabby. We've had Presidents with higher IQ's but they didn't use their intelligence to do the work that needed to be done. Clinton had an IQ o f 160, but what the hell did he accomplish? Clinton has left a legacy that most would not be too proud of. Both of these men have above normal IQ's. Intelligence and power are not synonymous with each other.

I'm sorry to say this, but SMARTEST!?!?! Okay, regardless of politics one should admit W. is NOT the smartest President we ever had. He would be average, but at least he's a hell of a lot smart than Carter... But I have to say Clinton was probably one of the smartest... He got out of being impeached on asking what is "is" I don't like Clinton, but he IS smart!

Ronald Reagan was the best and smartest to me. Too young to remember any before him. He was a good speaker and most people liked him. It was different back then, everything seems more divided and more hateful now. Much better than Bush, IMO.
