Russian news: David Trezeguet was standing near by while it happened and shared what he heard with journalists:
Zidane to Materazzi - you played with you hand, boy, used your hands
M - you're mistaken (it only seemed that way to you)
Z - that's the only way you can stop me. Just wait, we'll bit you in penalty and then you can find something better to do with your hands.
M - keep dreaming! In an hour your mother will (rude words) me, the champion!
Then Zidane hit him.

Regardless of what was said Zidanne should NOT have acted that way. In a game as important as the Final in the World Cup, there are going to be taunts and nasty words being thrown. He should have known this and he acted without thinking. He got what he deserved. That headbutt look very painful and I was shocked when I saw it. I personally have lost all respect for Zidanne.

Haha... Italy will be stripped of the title when the facts come out!!!! He said something like
"go back to Africa, you don't belong to Europe". Very few people know that Zidane has African
background but he has! He responded spontenously without thinking of the consequences because he
is NOT used to receiving racial slurrs.... he really looks white!
The Italian goalkeeper actually said something to that effect to Thierry Henry PRIOR to this
incident (holding Henry around the shoulder to make sure he hears), but Henry just replied "****
YOU!" without taking any physical action. Henry is noticably black so he is used to this as a
professional player, and he responded appropriately.
Notice that when the Zidane case happened it was the Italian goalkeeper who allerted the referee.
This tells you it was a pre-planned and pre-meditated phsycological and racial tactics that the
Italians used against the French to expell a French player and consequently win this
Championship. FIFA is fighting a fierce battle right now against racism in football so I'm
absolutely convinced that when the facts come out, Italy will be stripped of the title!
Finally, this should be a lesson to African players. If they ever want to win this cup they
should be prepared to receive racial slurrs on the field without taking physical action.
