I will not defend Mauresmo's looks, or sense of femininity on court, BUT (and sorry to spoil the fun here):

It should be said that in social graces, thoughtfulness, graciousness, etc., she handles herself with a great deal of class.

Dude, that crap is so not true. Football is just throwing, catching, and tackling (basically). It is hard to master, but it is easier to do. It is like a sport for the dumb people (lol, jk)...Tennis is a lot harder. Well sure, all you do is hit the ball. But, you have to keep your alertness up and the games usually last 2+ hours in Singles or Doubles. You cannot take a break either. Not only that, it is more mentally challenging than football. Your reflexes have to be extremely sharp in tennis and you make a mistake, the point is over (usually). Oh yeah, tennis isn't all strength (but that's important), it's way more on control.

What rule says you have to look a certain way to be seen as a top tennis player. Mauresmo should be praised not lamented, she is the No 1 in the world.

No, she is the best in the Woman's side and we need her to keep playing. If we loose her tennis will be boring on the Women's side.

Deffinately and if she was in in place of Zidane she would have killed Matterazi instead of headbutting him, smashed his head in with her racket! All the players would be scared of her even on her own team!
