THESE DAYS A PROM DRESS LENGTH CAN GO FROM THE KNEES TO THE FLOOR . I PERSONALLY LIKE T-LENGTH (MID - CALF) THE GIRLS CAN MANEUVER BETTER AND THE SHOES THAT THEY PAY BIG BUCKS FOR CAN BE SHOWN OFF . ALSO CAN BE WORN AGAIN FOR ANOTHER OCCASION , WITH DIFFERENT ACCESSORIES .

A formal should have about a knee length dress and a prom should have a floor length dress

a prom dress should be alittle bit long,that's if you dont want it long all the way down to cover the legs.any thing special about it should be from above,like embroidery,cleavage,strapless or heavy accessory.thats what i stick with and i works like a miracle for me..cuz baby i look charming;) good luck

i think the best lenght would be 2cm above the knee..
