Just see if you can reach a thoughtless state, and you WILL hear GOD speaking to you in a BIG way, leaving you absolutely DOUBTLESS.....
Yes it may take a while and lot of efforts to first learn to live effortlessly so that this in turn would silence the mind , and only when mind calms down by ITSELF, thoughtless state of a mind is possible. The rest is BLISS(to happen).

u didn't say if u r Muslim or christian. i guess u r Christian. many Christians are so lost when it comes to religion, many don't even know what this is anymore.
i just saw the most stupid answers some people gave you. but i have to tell you something - God will not talk to you. some people put themselves to high in expecting God will talk to them. why? who are they.? next thing is may be God should come and shake hands whit them.
i am born in a christian family. but i am Muslim now. and because i educated myself about religion i don't ask anymore this kind of questions.
get yourself educated.do not look for this kind of answers on line.

God is infinite and all around you.
Some people go around and see God in all things.
Some people go around and see only devils or demons.
There are a few who see nothing at all.
Usually when you want to talk to someone you have to see them first.
Or at least have their phone number to look up...
