Serious to me football is not about looks but skills ronaldinho to me is the best player in the world at dis moment!!! And Thierry is not better than Ronaldinho (some ppl say theirry is better than ronaldinho) what is VERY untrue!

thats true the you rock looks arent everything.Skills is the best thing and thats what helps your team to achive its goals not because of there looks.Or your brothers are jealous of Ronaldinho LOLS

well when you r a footballer its not only your looks that catch the eye its your skill as well...as for ronaldinho,he makes up for his lack of looks with his mind-blowing skills and tricks...glamour has an all new definition in the game of football...if you r able to do what he can do then you can surely catch the eye like any actor does....ya i do agree that henry is not as good as ronaldinho when it comes to the trickery but henry certainly drives a team better than ronaldinho does.....ppl dont care bout how he looks..they just say "wow!!!look at that skill..look how quick those feet are!!"....well he is a great entertainer in the modern game thats for sure..

I suppose in the World Cup, it is a factor. They are not just sportsmen. They are representations of their entire country. I'm sure a lot of people who didn't recognize certain countries now have ideas about them, merely based on the physical representation they saw from the teams.
Plus, they are PERFORMERS. Something involving as much, if not more, skill as acting for a movie or the stage. They are there are sportsmen, true, but they are also there for the general entertainment and enjoyment of anyone who cares to look.
I for one enjoyed a nice thigh shot of one of the players in the final game when he walked past Zidane when his arm was hurt.
