I am very sad to see Zidane sent off. I am very disappointed. I think it will be a black point in his history because of the circumstances. "In the WORLD CUP 2006 FINAL Zidane was sent off for HEADBUTTING". That's just disgusting. But nevertheless he will be remembered as one the greatest player of his Generation. Or should I say as "the greatest" player of his generation.
Of course he was very calm, there must be a very good reason behind all this. I blame everything on that victim whatever his name is. He provoked him to do so.

Zidane is one of the greatest players of all times there is no doubt on it,but great players shudn't lose their temperment no matter what the situation is especially when it is a crucial final match and that too the final one in his career.I think he shudn't have done such a thing at a time when his team mates really needed him and on being the captian himself,he should have been more patient and determined to sail his team to victory rather than acting in such a detestable manner.

oh yes most definitely, do we not RELISH !!!!!!!!!!! to crucify our saint's and heros, more then we love Ben and Jerry's ice cream! I don't think i need to list the many .

We erect our Zidanes high high up ...and then chop them down at the first sign of human'ness or folly or vunerability.

It is the favourite human past time. Or haven't you noticed? But no bother... we will all get our turn to be both the saint on the cross and the howling mob putting them up on the cross!

viva karma!

I think it will definitely be remembered more than it should be, especially since this is the last thing he'll ever do on the pitch, but I do not think it will tarnish his overall legacy as one of the best footballers of all time.

Perhaps this will persuade him to give it one more year? Perhaps in the USA and MLS? One can hope......

I think so. Not only did it happen at the finale, but it happened right at the end of the game and during the very last minutes of his career.

No, I think there must be any reason for his reaction. He is a very calm man and never do this stupid thing. I thnk Materrazzi is guilty for his bad reaction.

of course it will, although I'm not sorry for him. He's been doin this stuff ever since he started his career, that's how he started and that's how he ended. But he's still one of the best players of all time..
