I have a pc with this configuration :
AMD Athlon 2400+, 2.0 GHz, 256 RAM, 40GB Hard Disk, Windows XP Operating System
The problem is my monitor screen blinks, it goes off (totally blank) for about 1 sec. or so and comes back automatically, this disturbs a lot. There is no periodicity in this, sometimes very frequent. The pc is attached with UPS, so no voltage fluctuations are possible.
What could be the reason and the possible solutions ????
P.S. The Monitor is LG Studioworks 450N
Please Help !!

Same thing happened with my computer, I thought it may be a virus and was scanning it. I couldn't figured it out, its as if the screen was being drained.

Untill I noticed my cell usb was still plugged in and was completely charged. As soon as I took it out the blinking stopped.

what vid card or chip do u have
is there an updated driver for it the most likely cause is vid drivers they could be corrupt as happens from time to time. if ur using xp try restoring to a time when u didnt have this prob or just rreinstal vid drivers
u can get them at manufacturers site or www.driverguide.com

Goto the monitors website and get all driver updates. It isn't your monitor, in my opinion. It is the mis-allocation of video memory that is causing this which is monitor driver driven.

try fixing the cables first, if it still does that, barrow a monitor from someone and test it there, if it still does the blinking you might wanna have your graphic card checked

It could be the monitor or it could be the drive.....if there is a way to get another monitor to see if it is that you could narrow it down.
