Firstly, you need to be incredibly sceptical, as are all investigators, paranormal or otherwise! You will find that mostly, there will be rational explanations for nearly everything you investigate. Without the scepticism, you will only succeed in looking a fool, or unnecessarily frightening people. The need to be absolutely thorough and meticulous in your applications of research is also a must.
Read all you can from other documented paranormal investigations and occurrences. Knowledge is power and you really don't want people thinking you are a charlatan.
I was involved in paranormal investigations as a youth, my mentor through reading was Peter Underwood. We primarily dealt in ghost-hunting, though. In those days, EVP was not known about, not to us anyway!
Best of luck with your investigations, should you choose to persue this type of career, it can be interesting, fun at times and scary too!
;)

Actually a lot of the sci fi and end time...alien ...spirit films are in fact all based on truth as time was made backwards in a way. Lots of these films have been sent to warn.
Yes in fact always had a desire to do a film ...well since a vision I had in 2000 but of something a little different one of my long standing other interests...again that came from the spirit world
The problem is...we really do have a problem with this giants planet back at earth...The Annunaki clearly in much of the earths gods and folklore and though church ianity will not admit it where the gods of the bible and genetically engineered well before man
Their planet does roughly 3600 year orbits...was last here when Moses of Bible was around, and it is now back at earth ...very very near.
Each time on passing it cause cataclysms of great depth and this one will be extreme...most spirits will not be around with bodies after it. The zeta now have let out it is due before Bush and our Blair are due for re election (not with standing impeachment of assignation) That means before 2009 November
In 2003 I had a memo from the council of worlds saying it would be 2009 the pole turn...so bad news and not much time to prepare
A 4thh density race of beings the Zeta are at zetatalk.com, and are here to help those like me prpepare and then to help others (the only way to get on new earth)... those who want to try and get through it all
Blessings

Never mind becoming a Paranormal Investigator, what do you do when you find something and it put's the sh!ters up you? Find and believe in yourself firstly, decide your faith, and read up on the religious side of the faith. Get protected by having faith in yourself.
Personally I think most ghosts are residual physical echos from events that generated large amounts of psychical energy. Lost souls, possibly evil souls that cannot rest.
Although I am a No.1 fan of Brian Lumley's Necroscope series, I believe that most people have better things to do when they die, than lie 6ft under, and don't waft about freaking people out unless they have good/evil reason to do so.
So be careful matey you might not like what you find, and more importantly it might not like you.

I would suggest looking for a local paranormal or ghost hunting group in your state. There are groups everywhere right now because of the popularity of all of the Tv shows. Just jump online and look for groups local to you. I'm sure you'll find something. If your having problems, go to www.ghostlytalk.com and look under the field reporter section and email the reporter in your state or country. They'll be able to help you find a group to join and also be able to give you some advice on how to get started.

I started out with research - lots of it, but I dont remember a specific site. Later I received a book as a gift. I was skeptical of it, but I read it and I found it incredibly helpful. It's called "How to be a Ghost Hunter" by Richard Southall.
If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to help you out. I've been investigating for several years now, it's a passion of mine. I'm always thrilled to meet somone else who is interested. You can e-mail me if you want: k_robbins_skylane@yahoo.com

Try starting by reading the Fortean Times, it's a very good magazine full of interesting phenomena. They've got an online database too, but I can't recall the address. Just Google it.

If the first step is a stumbling block, imagine what might happen should you encounter Lilith the Screaming One or the demon Ornias? Stick to the Guardian crossword.
