Europe has 14 slots which is less than half, but European nations clocked up 2 out of every 3 wins. Europe had 10 of 16 in round #2, 6 of 8 in the quarter final and all semi finalists.

Europe 33 wins, 17 draws, 16 defeats (11 of those against other Europe)
South America 10 wins, 2 draws, 5 defeats
Africa 3 wins, 3 draws, 10 defeats.
North America 1 win, 3 draws, 9 defeats
Asia/Oceania 2 wins, 5 draws, 9 defeats

based on the results this should be the allocation for world cup 2010 slots:

Europe 22 slots
South America 7
North America 1
Africa 1
Asia/Oceania 1

I think it's fair that the best few nations from each continent should partake, but Europe has a lot more countries on the continent, a lot of which are also good enough to get results at the World Cup. This year for example, we missed Belgium, Ireland, Scotland, Denmark, Romania, Bulgaria, Norway and Turkey the most.

Still, South America could do with a few more teams too. I wondered where Chile and Colombia were. As for Africa - Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa, Morocco, Egypt and Senegal could have been entertaining, and for Middle&North America Jamaica and Cuba would've been nice additions.

So, I agree with you that Europe should have more teams in the cup than they have now, but I don't think other continents should have less. The World Cup now has 32 teams, in 8 teams of 4 in the first round. It should go to 8 teams of 5, maybe even 8 groups of 6 (or 12 groups of 4, but that's less practical). 40 or 48 teams in the finals, that would be excellent. 64 however would be a bit too much, I think.

Yes Europe should have more slots at the Wolrd Cup. Africa should have 1 slot (teams like trinidad tobago should try to improve their economy not playng soccer).

It is the World Cup, not Euro Cup. The best teams from each continent are selected to play each other. If you want to see more European teams, watch the Euro Cup instead.

no the best of each region goes. It just leads to the best being the ones to show up. If you included more it would just add to europes losses.
