This has always been a bit of of a sore spot for me. No where in the constitution, bill or rights, or the declaration of independence does it say the government has a duty to provide happiness. It does say the government has the duty to provide an environment where the people have the right to pursue happiness, and I think our government does that rather well. If people wait around for someone else to make them happy, then they will be miserable. Do they deserve to be miserable? I don't think so, but they should expect it until they work to better themselves and their lott in life.
